Venezuela, Syria, Vietnam, Iraq: Not Demanding Prosecution Facilitates Further US-NATO Genocide

by jay janson

Sooner or later, leaders in nations cleverly slandered by a monopolized media and brutally attacked by USA covert violence and murderous interventions will defeat this evil by quoting to the world the outraged words of famous Americans who bravely condemned their nation’s many atrocities – the most recent three of whom were shot to death.

Since Martin Luther King was assassinated, no   one calls for justice for the tens of millions of US-NATO victims. This will change, and the US media war machine will falter once disabled by world awareness of King’s long suppressed condemnations of his countrymen’s crimes against humanityand condemnations by other America heroes. For this is the era of  personal availability of lighting fast information corrective technology. Access to reality will make mankind free of the absurd media psyop manipulation that is presently destroying us.

Martin Luther King Jr.: “The greatest purveyor of violence in the world is my own government running atrocity wars and covert violence on three continents – since 1945!”[1](Shot to death within a year).

Malcolm X: “The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent because they control the minds of the masses – You show me a capitalist, and I’ll show you a bloodsucker.(Shot to death at age 40)

Fred Hampton [2]: “I believe I’m going to die doing the things I was born to do. You can kill a revolutionary but you can never kill the revolution. Peace to you, if you’re willing to fight for it.” (Shot to death at age 21 while sleeping in his apartment by a tactical unit of County and State’s Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department and the FBI.)

W. E. B. Debois [3]: “From my 30th year on, I have increasingly regarded the church as an institution which defended such evils as slavery, color caste, exploitation of labor and war. I think the greatest gift of the Soviet Union to modern civilization was the dethronement of the clergy and the refusal to let religion be taught in the public schools.”[4] (Died in Ghana, Africa at age 95)

Eugene Debs [5]: “The issue is Socialism versus Capitalism. I am for Socialism because I am for humanity. We have been cursed with the reign of gold long enough – Socialists were not born yesterday.(Spent 10 years in federal prison for urging refusal of the draft.)

Helen Keller[6]:The country is governed for the richest, for the corporations, the bankers, the land speculators, and for the exploiters of labor. Congress is not preparing to defend the people of the United States. It is planning to protect the capital of American speculators and investors in Mexico, South America, China, and the Philippine Islands. Incidentally this preparation will benefit the manufacturers of munitions and war machines. Our flourishing industry in implements of murder is filling the vaults of New York’s banks with gold. Every modern war has had its root in exploitation.[7]

Mark Twain: “Our [USA’s] uniformed assassins!  Many ghastly additions to our [USA] history is the torturing of Filipinos by the awful water cure.  [8] And as for the flag for the Philippine Province, we can have just our usual flag, with the white stripes painted black and the stars replaced by the skull and cross-bones”.[9]

Abraham Lincoln: “I … tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption will follow and the money power of the country will endeavor  and prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people, until the wealth is aggregated into a few hands and the republic is destroyed.[10] (Thought to have been assassinated for business interests.)

It seems inevitable that leaders of nations under US attack will come to realize that they have been tacitly cooperating with the US-NATO imperialist mortal enemies by allowing the exploited and decimated non-Caucasian 6/7ths of Mankind to forget the incredibly numerous indefensible and prosecutable US-NATO genocidal crimes against humanity that cry out for prosecution and for justice for their tens of millions of victims.

Focused on the immediate plight of their own people, these leaders have permitted Western media to distract attention away from each stage of this continuing USA holocaust as an unimportant and ‘past is past.’ Concerned with present danger to their citizens they seem unaware of the crippling effect world attention to similar past US covert sponsored violence would have on the program of US media deception that represents the greatest threat to their ability to defend themselves. But it would not be so difficult to remind the world of American use of al Qaida to kill and destroy as it did in prosperous Libya and is doing in Syria; remind the of the many overthrows of popular governments in Honduras, Libya, Haiti, Nicaragua, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Congo, Guatemala, El Salvador and Greece.

The leaders of nations attacked have failed for too long to call for US-NATO prosecution under Nuremberg Principles law and failed to keep alive the memory of the many genocides the USA, assisted by other now neocolonial powers, has brought down upon the innocent peoples of Iraq, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Guatemala, Congo and mass-murder through bombing and invading of the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Libya and a twelve year occupation war in Afghanistan.

Neither do they seek as a group to prosecute the US in the court of public opinion for its half century long violations of the UN Charter as it goes on imposing cruel, economy crippling and life costing illegal multiple nation sanctions on Iran, on Iraq, on Mianmar, on Cuba, on Syria, and on one half of the Korea it cut in two after 40 years of criminally recognizing Korea as territory of a brother Japanese Empire.

The leaders in nations whose citizens are currently under US attack in one way or another, namely, Syria, Venezuela, Somalia, Yemen, Iran, Libya, Iraq, Pakistan, Korea, Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua, having witnessed nation after nation knocked off one after the other with ‘civil wars’ planned on Wall Street and executed by CIA and bought US government officials, will soon awaken to the wisdom of the oft quoted, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall [continue to] hang separately.” [Benjamin Franklin]

(This same Benjamin Franklin also predicted, as he signed the US Constitution with reservations, eventual despotism in America.)[11]

The following is a glossary-outline of USA crimes against humanity from its inception, a mere but bloody for Mankind 238 years ago. The reader might surmise without going to the trouble of further research, that every one of these crimes against humanity must have been most certainly planned and accomplished for the capital gains of the speculative investment banking industry of USA’s power wielding wealthy.

-COLOMBIA 2000-2014 “CIA covert action program $30,000 GPS guidance kit smart bombs help Colombian forces kill at least two dozen rebel leaders; multibillion-dollar black budget apart from public $9 billion to Colombia military.”[24]

-WORLDWIDE 1945-2014: Genocidal economic exploitation. Nobel Laureate in Economics Joe Stiglitz: “My years at the World Bank saw policies that were genocidal.” The IMF is mandated to oversee the international monetary and financial system and monitor the economic and financial policies of its 188 member countries. This activity is known as surveillance that facilitates international co-operation. Since the demise of the Bretton Woods system of fixed exchange rates in the early 1970s, the responsibilities of the Fund changed from those of guardian to those of overseer of members’ policies. The Fund’s usual prescription is as economist Jeffrey Sachs said, ‘budgetary belt tightening to countries who are much too poor to own belts’.The World Bank’s official goal is the reduction of poverty, but  according to its Articles of Agreement, all its decisions must be guided by a commitment to the promotion of foreign investment and international trade and to the facilitation of capital investment, whatever the cost to human life.  The IMF, World Bank, Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderberg Group form  a cabal of official and unofficial organizations that inherit the leadership of the Rothschild and Rockefeller Families and the heirs of J.P. Morgan’s financial empire.(“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes her laws.” -M. Rothschild.)

WORLDWIDE 1973-2014: New York Times front page claims that the CIA had assassinated foreign leaders, and had illegally conducted surveillance on some 7,000 U.S. citizens involved in the antiwar movement (Operation CHAOS).The CIA had also experimented on U.S. and Canadian citizens without their knowledge, secretly giving them LSD (among other things) and observing the results.

-ORDINARY AMERICAN CITIZENS AND IMMIGRANTS 1976-2014:  Difficult to estimate deaths, suffering and lives cut short for the inhumane automaton reign of the profit motive that has been inherent in the governance of society by the wealthy through overall rule by the  speculative banking industry. Merciless and often deadly  economic exploitation of immigrants, minorities, especially  African-American and Native American, and the inhuman discrimination suffered by them and for a century Jewish people as well, for the threat they represented to dominant investors, are explained well  in changing historical context, by historian Howard Zinn in his Peoples History of the United States.  Zinn describes horrific examples of the above: the  Ford Co.  Ludlow Massacre and other police and army homicidal repression and terror against groups of people refusing to work under  murderous conditions of lowest wage labor; deadly violence against  tenants refusing to pay  slumlords; the barbaric Dust Bowl exploitation described in Steinbecks Greaps of Wrath; the savage  exploitation of immigrants in Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle; the Triangle Shirt Factory Fire that exemplifies the mortally  fearful working conditions of below-living-wage women employees in the garment industry that now continually occurs in merciless conditions suffered in Thailand and Bangladesh factories of outsourced US corporation production;  hunger and child malnutrition desperation during  depressions created by speculative banking and investors withdrawing money from the economy awaiting  better returns; forced draft into military to serve genocidal wars for profit against the exploited poor in colonies or neocolonies overseas; corporate media psyop mind-control inculcating violent and degenerate behaviors in children convenient to marketing objectives.

Note: The approximate death tolls within the above list of crimes against humanity are a being continually updated with ever new estimates.

The above list does not include any results of continuing research into important CIA involvement in any number of genocidal wars such as Biafra ‘secession’ in Nigeria, the lead up to and aftermath of the Ruanda Genocide, and other ‘civil wars’ and election violence throughout the Africa, Asia, and Latin America, but knowing the sweep of CIA power with stations in almost every nation and corporate investment machinations, criminal CIA involvement can be assumed. One only need recollect that a frightened US Congress saw fit to pass a bill forbidding further assassinations in 1972 .  Presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul spoke to this only yesterday, 3/8/2014 in reference to hyped mainstream television false coverage of  the conflict in the Ukraine, “they’re part of the banking system, they’re part of the military-industrial complex, they’re part of an educational system that endorses perpetual intervention overseas.” In a video [25], Ron Paul notes the hypocrisy of the United States government condemning Russia for violating Ukraine sovereignty while the United States has been invading countries, taking sides in revolutionary conflicts including in Ukraine, and interfering in elections around the world. “We have special forces and CIA involved in lots of countries. We have 800 bases around the world with in 130 countries. We are always involved it seems in someone else’s election. We preach democracy and behind the scenes we stir up trouble for many many reasons.”

Quoting from A Timeline of CIA Atrocities [26] “CIA operations follow the same recurring script. First, American business interests abroad are threatened by a popular or democratically elected leader. The people support their leader because he intends to conduct land reform, strengthen unions, redistribute wealth, nationalize foreign-owned industry, and regulate business to protect workers, consumers and the environment. So, on behalf of American business, and often with their help, and State Department funded organizations like National Endowment for Democracy the CIA mobilizes the opposition. First it identifies right-wing groups within the country (usually the military), and offers them a deal: “We’ll put you in power if you maintain a favorable business climate for us.” The Agency then hires, trains and works with them to overthrow the existing government (usually a democracy). It uses every trick in the book: propaganda, stuffed ballot boxes, purchased elections, extortion, blackmail, sexual intrigue, false stories about opponents in the local media, infiltration and disruption of opposing political parties, kidnapping, beating, torture, intimidation, economic sabotage, death squads and even assassination. These efforts culminate in a military coup, which installs a right-wing dictator. The CIA trains the dictator’s security apparatus to crack down on the traditional enemies of big business, using interrogation, torture and murder. The victims are said to be “communists,” but almost always they are just peasants, liberals, moderates, labor union leaders, political opponents and advocates of free speech and democracy. Widespread human rights abuses follow.
This scenario has been repeated so many times that the CIA actually teaches it in a special school, the notorious “School of the Americas.” Critics have nicknamed it the “School of the Dictators” and “School of the Assassins.” Here, the CIA trains Latin American military officers how to conduct coups, including the use of interrogation, torture and murder.
The Association for Responsible Dissent estimates that by 1987, 6 million people had died as a result of CIA covert operations. Former State Department official William Blum correctly calls this an “American Holocaust.”
The CIA justifies these actions as part of its war against communism. But most coups do not involve a communist threat. Unlucky nations are targeted for a wide variety of reasons: not only threats to American business interests abroad, but also liberal or even moderate social reforms, political instability, the unwillingness of a leader to carry out Washington’s dictates, and declarations of neutrality in the Cold War.”

In this space age of inexpensive and universally accessible information technology racing forward, the neocolonized non-Caucasian vast majority of Earthlings will awaken to the awareness of their ability to prosecute all the colonial and neocolonial crimes against it and call for a justice that will make wars unprofitable.[27] Then the freed citizens of the United States of America will effortlessly fashion a dynamic society based on the enjoyment of life instead of on capital gains for its insane with greed wealthy. Their simple minded war-song national anthem will be replaced with ‘America the Beautiful’ as sung by Ray Charles, and its flag, long a bloodied symbol of deadly firepower, will field colors and symbols more lovely than jarring red stripes.

This article is dedicated to everyone on Earth, and especially to my friends in Harlem, New York City, in particular one of half Native American descent who was the inspiration for this confidence builder.

Benjamin Franklin Predicts Despotic Goverment in America

In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution, with all its faults, — if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of government  but what may be a blessing to the people, if well administered; and I believe, farther, that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other.

Merciless US NATO UN Genocide in Somalia Brought Nairobi Shopping Mall Blowback!
Equivalent shock for Kenyans as 9/11 was for Americans. Background of these two massacres are pathetically similar. Both were blowback on US genocidal foreign policy. Osama bin Laden in his 2002 Letter to Americans, included “attacks on Muslims in Somalia” in his list of reasons for the al Qaeda 9/11 attack. Synopsis, chronology of US genocide in Somalia given. Every American should consider his or her possible involvement.

Syria: CIA, M16, French, Mossad, Saudi Involvement
Unreported In Imperialist Media
Countercurrents.org, 27 June, 2011: What is unfolding in Syria is an armed insurrection supported covertly by foreign powers including the US, Turkey and Israel. Armed insurgents belonging to Islamist organizations have crossed the border from Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. The US State Department has confirmed that it is supporting the insurgency. There Was No Libyan Peaceful Protest,
Just Murderous Gangs and Nic Robertson

By Jay Janson

June, 2011
Countercurrents.org

Nic Robertson and Anderson Cooper are surely aware of their achievement in promoting the human carnage of civil war and the destruction of a beautifully well-kept and prosperous nation, the 53rd highest developed country in the world with free health care and education. A standard of living that was higher than nine European nations, including Russia, is no more, thanks to their having daily led our entertainment with their war mongering of purposely distorted reporting, misreporting, disinformation, and blacking out of information that would have made this massive loss of human life impossible. They’ll not be able to wash this off their conscience.

1). There were no peaceful protests!

2). CNN, covering the Danish Cartoons anniversary demonstration that was cooped with an announcement from London to make it into a “day of rage against Libyan leader Gaddafi,’ showed us camera panning of a modest size crowd (mostly men) jumping up and down shouting against Gaddafi (not against Libya’s high standard of living).

3). There were armed attacks on police stations (even traffic police) and vicious attacks on Chinese and Korea construction workers already two days before, and during the anniversary of the Danish Cartoons or “day of rage,’ executions of 50 captured Libyan soldiers, one beheaded, some hung along with police officers. And who knows how many ordinary Libyan civilians harmed by tough guys brought in to Benghazi and other Cyrenaican towns. This was reported by Reuters and BBC, but not CNN.

4). CNN showed a video of a small amount of people scattering, running at twilight, cell phone camera jerking around in confusion with the sound of shooting from completely unidentified sources. There was Anderson Cooper and Nic Robertson crying out that “Gaddafi’, was “targeting, shooting, bombing his own people who only want democracy. At the same time a flood of anti Gaddafi reports were coming in from well funded Libyan exile backers in various countries.

5). Imagine! On Feb. 21 a bare four days after the overseas calls for “day of rage’ U.S. media’s UK counterpart, the Telegraph reported that ” the International Federation for Human Rights said Libya’s second city along with Sirte, Tobruk, Misrata, Khoms, Tarhounah, Zenten, Al-Zawiya and Zouara had all been taken by protesters. “Protesters?” We were given to see these tough hombre heavily armed “freedom fighters’ in their fleets of pickup trucks looking nothing at all like protesters.

6). While, very quickly, heavily armed insurgent gangs, always described as “ordinary citizens who had dropped their office jobs a few days before to fight for freedom,’ were efficiently overrunning towns and airports, Cooper and Robertson kept excitedly exclaiming cities were being bombed from the air – civilians targeted – showing viewers the same single bomb crater in a field outside of a town for five days running as proof, though oddly admitting no one had been injured.

7). CNN and NY Times have never reported that Libya, as opposed to desperately poor Egypt and Yemen enjoys a higher standard of living than nine European nations including Russia. Rather, they continue emphasizing Western media condemnation of Gaddafi over his entire four decades of leadership of Libya and the movement for African Union.

8). In less than 2 weeks came Obama’s executive orders freezing Libyan accounts or confiscating Libyan accounts of billions of dollars for eventual use by insurgents. Even earlier began the threats from international institutions beholden to U.S. and NATO, and open speculation by the same coalition of former colonial powers that had once conquered and ruled the entire non-white world for centuries, of military action against “Gaddafi’ (that would add a sixth Muslim nation to its bombing list of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan.

9). Then came the successful pressuring of China and Russia not to veto a U.S. NATO attack on Libya in favor of the insurgent army (almost openly led and funded by CIA, M16, Mossad and the French Secret Service) under the pretext of protecting the Libyan population from its own government (never referred to a an independent nation, but as “Gaddafi” or “the Gaddafi regime). A UN “Security Council’ resolution was passed, but never meant to protect Libyans from a brutal foreign funded insurgent army calling for warplanes of the former European occupiers of North Africa to bomb their own countrymen and nation. During all the months following, CNN would have us believe the attacking insurgents never killed anyone, while hammering in the Gaddafi monster theme.

10). All this deception was prepared over decades of rabid media attacks on Gaddafi, the anti-imperialist, the “mad dog’ of Reagan and Secretary Clinton, and then with claims that Libya was having just another revolution like those against the many U.S. supported dictators of Arab nations. War on Libyan was accepted by the American public in the same way the public had accepted covert violence and war to protect Guatemalans, Congolese, Dominicans, Cubans, Panamanians, Nicaraguans, Chileans and Hondurans from their presidents, wars to protect Koreans from other Koreans, Vietnamese from Vietnamese, Laotians from Laotians, Cambodians from Cambodians, Lebanese from Lebanese, Afghans from Afghans, Iraqis from Iraqis, Somalis from Somalis, Yemeni from Yemeni, Grenadians from Grenadians, Salvadorians from Salvadorians, Yugoslavs from Yugoslavs, Iranians from Iranians, Haitians from Haitians, and Pakistanis from Pakistanis. By this time everyone should have known of the U.S. protection racket, but count on innovation by CIA, CNN and the NY Times to make a seemingly ironclad case in favor of each new U.S. EU Canadian Australian war coalition.  … full article at:

Capitalism’s Warplanes: CIA & al Qaeda Destroy Socialist Libya’s 53rd Highest Living Standard
It’s like when you watch a magician perform. You might have an idea how the slight of hand was done. But you don’t really know for sure. You just know what you saw was a trick.

You have seen revolutionaries before, real and phony. These heavily armed excited hombres don’t look and act the part of the aggrieved, and for the most part don’t look like the noble people risking their lives in the streets of Cairo, Tunis, Sana’a and Manama.

Thirdly, the really bad guys, the big bad guys – the very powerful imperialist capitalists who revolutionaries must always fight, are incongruously on the side of “Libyan “revolutionaries.’

Fourthly, if they have it better than everyone else in Africa and the Arab world, why are they willing to kill and be killed to change the leader who has led them in producing an enviable level of social services democratically available to all citizens*(1 ), and side with Libya’s former brutal exploiting European masters who now generously bomb Libya again?

Alassane Quattara bio Wikipedia:

In April 1990, the IMF under the Structural Adjustment Program forced the Ivorian President Houphouët-Boigny to accept Ouattara as Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Coordination of the Stabilization and Economic Recovery Programme of Côte d’Ivoire. While holding that position, Ouattara also remained in his post as BCEAO Governor (Note that in this position he was also representing Burkina Faso).[3] He subsequently became Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire on 7 November 1990 still under the IMF imposition,[3][8] after which Charles Konan Banny replaced him as Interim BCEAO Governor.[8]

You Tube: Ivory Coast, Africa New World Order, CIA, Freemasons, and the IMF
“The UN, CIA, EU, and all others should leave, including Burkina Faso’s freemason president who hired and trained mercenaries to carry out a coup before the elections.

In the Dec. 2010 elections, we have heard numerously on corporate mainstream media about IC ‘rigged’ election and the civil unrest and violence in result.
Th news about Ivory Coast was a surprise as the Western propaganda news agencies rarely inform their listeners about foreign events (in Africa esp.)
Gbagbo, an independent politician who is anti-colonialist, was running for re-election against Alassane Outtara.
Western media constantly declared that Quattara was the winner and that Gbagbo must leave.
What they did not mention, is that the Constitutional Council was informed that Ouattara won WITHOUT SHOWING the results to validate this.
After the dispute in the electioins, the US, EU, France, IMF, and the UN unfairly supported only Ouattara while demonizing Pres. Gbagbo unjustly.
The imperialist elites demanded Ouattara to be president which resulted in chaos in Ivory Coast.
Anyways, it has been shown that this sit has be orchestrated by the US CIA, the French  government and an IMF and UN controlled by imperialist world elite like the Rockefellers and Rothschilds.
Also, the opposition candidate Ouattara worked for none other than the IMF, for many years.

Another thing is that French politician Jean-Francois Probst revealed in an interview that from his view and experience, Ouatara is very close to the CIA
We can see clearly that the powers that be want Ouattara as an IMF/CIA puppet, as they unjustly slander Gbabo while praising Outtara as the victor without evidence.
This while most Ivory Coast people have protested in favor of Gbabo.
reason elite powers want o control IC this much is not only strategic location of the country but also for its gold and oil reserves
another infamous group played a role in Ivory Coast and Outtara were the Freemasons
It was known that France and their African Freemason puppets have been planning to overthrow Gbabo since 2004
In meeetings 2004 OU participated in -French power conspired with Freemasons in Bukina Faso, to overthrow Gbabo and install Outtara.
President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Campaore Free mason, explained in this meeting and helped train mercenaries who would attempt to overthrow Gbabo. The treason of Outtara is blatant, as he supported this violence against Ivory Coast and its people.
‘The plotters of yesterday , the plotters of today… they swim in the water and think we don’t see their backs but we see them.’
in 2/2011, fortunately Gbabo is president.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Vz4ldzULQ

Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara flew to France on Aug. 24
for a two-week vacation, arriving on a Gulfstream G3 aircraft
privately registered to Andalex Aviation II LLC, a company out
of Wilmington, Del. Previously on July 28, Ouattara flew to
Washington and on the following day met with the presidents of
Benin, Niger, Guinea and the United States. On that visit, the
Ivorian president arrived on a Gulfstream G5 aircraft,
registered, interestingly, to an apartment under the name Jet
Greene LLC in Miami Beach, Fla.

STRATFOR has reason to believe the aircraft belong to CIA front
companies; he could have chartered a plane from any number of
companies, so it does not stand to reason that he would charter
a plane registered to an apartment in Miami Beach. Moreover,
Ouattara has only recently assumed the presidency. Although he
was democratically elected in 2010, he had to take Abidjan
militarily before he could replace his predecessor, Laurent
Gbagbo. He now faces a number of threats, including from those
constituting the remnants of the Gbagbo regime and those within
his own camp, and the aircraft show that he has found the means
by which he will mitigate those threats: U.S. patronage.

Ivory Coast’s Gbagbo Decries Foreign Intervention
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2011/01/01/world/africa/AP-AF-Ivory-Coast.html?ref=world

ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast (AP) – Ivory Coast’s incumbent leader Laurent Gbagbo,
who has refused to cede power, has accused world leaders of launching a
coup to oust him. …

A Gbagbo youth leader has called for internationally
recognized leader Alassane Ouattara to leave the hotel by Saturday. …

Gbagbo gave an address late Friday on state television in which he accused
the international community of mounting a coup d’etat to oust him and said
Ivorians were being subjected to international hostility.

“No one has the right to call on foreign armies to invade his country,”
Gbagbo said. “Our greatest duty to our country is to defend it from
foreign attack.” …

The U.N. declared Alassane
Ouattara the winner, endorsing the announcement by the country’s electoral
commission. But Gbagbo has refused to step aside now for more than a
month, defying international condemnation and growing calls for his
ouster.

The European Union said late Friday that it had approved sanctions on 59
more people, in addition to 19 already sanctioned last week including
Gbagbo and his wife. Gbagbo and about 30 of his allies also face U.S.
travel sanctions …

West African leaders have said they are prepared to use military force to
push Gbagbo out, but are giving negotiations more time for now. For many,
the credibility of the international community is at stake if it is unable
to ensure that Ouattara takes power.

Gbagbo points to Ivory Coast’s constitutional council, which declared him
president after throwing out more than half a million votes from Ouattara
strongholds. The council invalidated election results in those areas,
citing violence and intimidation directed at Gbagbo supporters. The top
U.N. envoy in Ivory Coast has disputed that assessment. …

… a pro-Gbagbo youth leader has encouraged his supporters to
seize the Golf Hotel, saying that Ouattara and Soro have until Saturday to
“pack up their bags” and leave. The building is being guarded by some 800
U.N. peacekeepers and hundreds of rebels loyal to Ouattara.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said he is “deeply alarmed” by the
youth leader’s comments, and he has called on Gbagbo supporters to
“refrain from such dangerous irresponsible action,” a U.N. spokesman said.

The youth leader, Charles Ble Goude, is known as the “street general” for
organizing a violent anti-French and anti-U.N. gang that terrorized the
foreign population in Ivory Coast in 2004-2005.

Today, the CIA has permanent missions in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Nigeria, Egypt, Libya, Rwanda and Mali. The CIA’s missions are all focused on multiple objectives from combating Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists to capacity building for African military and security forces. Similarly, the Pentagon’s sudden decision to create African Command or AFRICOM is another clear indication that the CIA has made a strategic, long-term organizational imperative to focus its attention on Africa.

Clearly, the CIA growing involvement is not simply just about “regime continuation” and “targeted hits” against America’s enemies, but rather is actively involved in expanding its influence over Africa’s political infrastructure and economic policies. For example, it is no coincidence that a number of African regimes such as Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda, Mwai Kibaki of Kenya, Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti, and Hassan Sheikh of Somalia are now actively managed by the CIA. The dictatorial regimes or “assets” are totally dependent on the agenda of the CIA in terms of their continued existence as well as the re-structuring of their economies in the face of domestic and geo-political uncertainties.
