Michael Moore, If we know Wall St. runs “the biggest criminal operation this country has ever seen, and not one of them has gone to prison, we invade countries, send drones to kill civilians, five wars going on right now where our soldiers are killing people, yet do not call for the prosecution of these crimes, are we not acting as Accessories After the Fact, in “hindering the felons apprehension, trial, or punishment?
Michael, we know what you say is true. “All the wrong people are in prison in this country.” and that Wall Street is home to “the biggest criminal operation that this country has ever seen” and not one of them has gone to prison for what they’ve done,” and we also know that “we invade countries. We send drones in to kill civilians. We’ve got five wars going on right now where our soldiers are killing people—I mean, five that we know of.”
Michael, if we know all this, and yet do not call for the full force of the law to be put into effect in prosecution of these crimes against humanity, are we not acting as Accessories After the Fact, in “hindering the the felons apprehension, trial, or punishment.” [Quoting from the Text – USC Title 18 – CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT =Whoever, knowing that an offense has been committed, receives, relieves, comforts or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial or punishment, is an accessory after the fact; one who knowing a felony to have been committed by another, receives, relieves, comforts, or assists the felon in order to hinder the felon’s apprehension, trial, or punishment.”]
Michael! Call For the prosecution of US crimes against humanity and end our being accessories after the fact!
Michael, what else is going to stop our criminals creating the “American DNA of killers” through their control of 98% of the sources of public information from Kindergarten up through University reaching into our homes and children’s minds?
In Bowling for Columbine you gave us the most astounding in depth killer DNA wake up film ever made – it went in one ear and out the other into obscurity, so thorough is the commercial mass media disinformation and psyop of fright, materialism, egoism and fascination with violence.
There is only one thing left for you to do. Lead a public call for the prosecution of US crimes against humanity under the Nuremberg Principles Laws, the World Peace Act, both of which for many decades have been part of the US Constitution by its Article Six that makes all Senate ratified treaties an integral part.[see Prosecute US Crimes Against Humanity Now Campaign http://prosecuteuscrimesagainsthumanitynow.blogspot.com/]
Michael, if you call for US crimes prosecution, not just prosecution of a few of Wall Street’s hired minions as fall guys, Americans and citizens abroad, especially in victimized populations that have suffered under a lethal US foreign policy will follow you. Then we will not only protect our children and theirs, but prevent Wall Street leaders from bringing about the horrific use of the WMD they are so very heavily investing in with an eye to greater wars and greater profits.
Our Michael Moore now has his eye on, and finger pointing to, the source of the wars and thievery. But these self-lobotomized ledger line automatons, automatically commodifying life on earth, will go on marketing collateral mass-murder until they are forced to include the threat of imprisonment in their amoral calculations.
Martin Luther King Jr. taught that ‘all US atrocity wars and homicidal covert attacks are meant to maintain unjust predatory investments.’ [ see King Condemned US Warshttp://kingcondemneduswars.blogspot.com/]
As Kim Peterson, coeditor, Dissident Voice, has sensibly cautioned, “Justice is required, otherwise what would serve as a brake on future war crimes?”
Michael’s Fellow Luminaries All Seem to Fall Short of Actually Promoting a Public Call for the Prosecution of US Crimes Against Peace and letting indictments fall as they may.
Noam Chomsky has said, “America must prosecute its own war criminals”–progressive antiwar leaders in effect answered,’No!’
Chomsky’s and Ed Herman’s “If the Nuremberg laws were applied, then every post-war American president would have been hanged”is treated as a humorous aside, for most think that Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, John Kennedy, ‘Ike’ Eisenhower were nice guys, opened CIA files incriminating them in crimes against humanity notwithstanding.
Former US Att. Gen. Ramsey Clark, author of US War Crimes in the Gulf, solemnly states,
“The greatest crime since World War II has been U.S. foreign policy.” Very few disagree, but calls for the logical prosecution of crime are not heard.”
Obama’s long time minister, Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s “God Damn America for her crimes against humanity” was highly publicized as a infamy, or wild exaggeration.
Rev. Dr. Cornel West sermonized “Drones are War Crimes!” but who in his church calls for prosecution of this crime? The Peace movement, almost with one voice, limits itself to call of ‘Shame, shame, tell them to stop,’ and apologizes to the families of the victims as if they and all Americans were not complicit and responsible.
Elliot Adams, former VFP President, often arrested author of “The indictment of President Obama and all who follow his criminal orders”-read at the US Air Force Drone Base, Hancock, NY is ignored by literally the entire Veterans For Peace organization. Most of the 90% who reelected Obama say, ‘NO! Indictment is embarrassing and we don’t support it.’
All this is to say, the world awaits a Michael Moore to break the ice, as it were, and call for the prosecution of US crimes against humanity and let the indictments fall as they may, and hope they will include such financial planners and backers of war that escaped indictment at Nuremberg.
As the Council for the Defense pointed out in summation, not only the leading figures of the German financial-industrial-complex should have been indicted but investors from around the world led by wealthy Americans and American corporations () that supported Hitler and invested heavily in building prostate Nazi Germany up to number one military power knowing precisely what Hitler had always announced as his intentions and plans for Jews, communists and the Soviet Union. (Ford, DuPont, Rockefeller, Bush, Kennedy, Harriman, Dulles, etc. and almost every single major US corporation)
Michael Moore said in a video he made in lower Manhattan, New York City just a few hours after the news of the Newtown school massacre broke:
“… I really believe that even if we had better gun control laws and better mental health, that we would still be the sort of sick and twisted, violent people that we’ve been for hundreds of years, that it’s something that’s just in our craw, just in our DNA. And to get that out of our DNA is going to take a lot more than passing a bill in Albany or D.C. That’s not going to do it.
And, you know, other countries, I mean, they have their crazy people, and they have people that—there have been shootings and killings in Norway, in France and in Germany. But there haven’t been 61 mass killings like there have been in this country just since Columbine. Sixty-one mass shootings in this country. I like to say that I sort of agree with the NRA when they say, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” except I would just modify that a bit and say, “Guns don’t kill people, Americans kill people,” because that’s what we do. We invade countries. We send drones in to kill civilians. We’ve got five wars going on right now where our soldiers are killing people—I mean, five that we know of. We are on the short list of illustrious countries who have the death penalty. We believe it’s OK to kill you when you’ve committed a crime.
And then we have all the other forms of violence in this country that we don’t really call violence, but they are acts of violence. When you—when you make sure that 50 million people don’t have health insurance in your country and that, according to the congressional study that was done, 44,000 people a year die in America for the simple reason that they don’t have health insurance, that’s a form of murder. That murder is being committed by the insurance companies. When you evict millions of peoples—millions of people from their homes, that’s an act of violence. That’s called a home invasion.
All the wrong people are in prison in this country. I can’t believe we’re just standing blocks away from the biggest criminal operation that this country has ever seen, right down that street, and not one of them has gone to prison for what they’ve done. When you have eliminated so many millions of jobs, when you’ve ruined communities like mine, Flint, Michigan, you have killed people, because—because having seen firsthand the effects of these corporate decisions—the alcoholism, the drug abuse, divorce, suicide, all the social problems that go along with this act of violence—but we don’t call it violence, and no one’s ever arrested for it—I think it’s a real shame. And frankly, as an American, this is not how I want to be remembered.
