Peace talks in Afghanistan will never materialize until the United States gives up on its ambitions for long-term military bases in the country. The desire for bases seem to be tied to efforts to encircle China with missiles and to have U.S. military near Pakistan and India. The U.S. is also well aware of a trillion in precious resources in Afghan soil and their geographic location to get oil and gas from the Caspian sea. The U.S. must give up these empire ambitions and face reality.
